In
December 1993, the Zalafurnér company, in the Hungarian
city of Letenye, was successfully taken over, along with its’ 100
employees. It’s name was changed to OWI Zala BT.
Zalafurnér was originally founded by the local forest management organisation
and began by producing high-quality veneer and beech veneer plywood. In 1996,
a new production hall was purchased. |

In 1998 we expanded our subsidiary even more and in 2000 a
large new assembly hall and paint shop was set up.
From the day it was taken over until now, OWI Zala BT, as
a subsidiary of the OWI GmbH, has produced shaped parts made
from beech plywood, mainly for the seating furniture industry
as well as high-quality loudspeaker cabinets for the High-End
market. Thanks to the OWI Zala BT, the Lohr location has remained
competitive.
